The time it was a best of 2013 hop

Hooray for yet another giveaway hop!!

This one is being hosted by Bookhounds and I Am a Reader, Not a Writer.

The choice of "best of 2013" was so difficult, so many amazing books came out this year! I went back and forth with what I was going to give away and finally decided on....
Supernatural meets The Da Vinci Code in this action-packed paranormal thriller, the first book in a new series from New York Times bestselling author Kami Garcia.

I never believed in ghosts. Until one tried to kill me.

When Kennedy Waters finds her mother dead, her world begins to unravel. She doesn’t know that paranormal forces in a much darker world are the ones pulling the strings. Not until identical twins Jared and Lukas Lockhart break into Kennedy’s room and destroy a dangerous spirit sent to kill her. The brothers reveal that her mother was part of an ancient secret society responsible for protecting the world from a vengeful demon — a society whose five members were all murdered on the same night.

Now Kennedy has to take her mother’s place in the Legion if she wants to uncover the truth and stay alive. Along with new Legion members Priest and Alara, the teens race to find the only weapon that might be able to destroy the demon — battling the deadly spirits he controls every step of the way.

Suspense, romance, and the paranormal meet in this chilling urban fantasy, the first book in a new series from Kami Garcia, bestselling coauthor of the Beautiful Creatures novels.
So, up for grabs....

The time it was a debut author hop

Hooray for another giveaway hop!!

This one is being hosted by Bookhounds and I Am a Reader, Not a Writer

There were many debut authors in 2013 who are amazing, but one woman in particular immediately came to mind: A.G. Howard.  I have a pretty big girl crush on her [she hasn't filed a restraining order yet] and Splintered is definitely one of my favorites of the year.

This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of a mystical under-land, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers—precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.

When her mother’s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she thought was fiction is based in terrifying reality. The real Wonderland is a place far darker and more twisted than Lewis Carroll ever let on. There, Alyssa must pass a series of tests, including draining an ocean of Alice’s tears, waking the slumbering tea party, and subduing a vicious bandersnatch, to fix Alice’s mistakes and save her family. She must also decide whom to trust: Jeb, her gorgeous best friend and secret crush, or the sexy but suspicious Morpheus, her guide through Wonderland, who may have dark motives of his own.
Soooooooo. Up for grabs.....

A signed hardcover copy of Splintered, an arc of Unhinged and a necklace that will make sense once you've read Unhinged [thank you, Anita].  And this giveaway is international!

Rules for the giveaway are listed under the "terms and conditions" on the Rafflecopter widget.

The time it was the stuck in a good book hop

Hooray for giveaway hops!

This one is hosted by Stuck in Books and I Am a Reader, Not a Writer.

One entire series that has kept me captivated is Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi. Haven't read it?
WORLDS KEPT THEM APART.

DESTINY BROUGHT THEM TOGETHER.

Aria has lived her whole life in the protected dome of Reverie. Her entire world confined to its spaces, she's never thought to dream of what lies beyond its doors. So when her mother goes missing, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland long enough to find her are slim.

Then Aria meets an outsider named Perry. He's searching for someone too. He's also wild - a savage - but might be her best hope at staying alive.

If they can survive, they are each other's best hope for finding answers.

I have a signed paperback copy of Under the Never Sky up for grabs!

The time it was a freedom to read hop

Time for another giveaway hop!

This one is hosted by BookHounds and I Am A Reader, Not a Writer.

As soon as I saw the above hop photo and the flag, I thought of America [obviously]. And from that train of thought, America Singer came to mind... which leads me to the book I'm giving away:

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself—and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined

I have a signed copy of The Selection up for grabs!!

The time it was a love in bloom hop

Well.  Here we are with another amazing blog hop.  This one is hosted by I Am a Reader, Not a Writer and Portrait of a Book.

When I saw the description being a "lighthearted/contemporary YA romance", I immediately thought of Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill.

Meant to be or not meant to be . . . that is the question.

It's one thing to fall head over heels into a puddle of hazelnut coffee, and quite another to fall for the—gasp—wrong guy. Straight-A junior Julia may be accident prone, but she's queen of following rules and being prepared. That's why she keeps a pencil sharpener in her purse and a pocket Shakespeare in her, well, pocket. And that's also why she's chosen Mark Bixford, her childhood crush, as her MTB ("meant to be").

But this spring break, Julia's rules are about to get defenestrated (SAT word: to be thrown from a window) when she's partnered with her personal nemesis, class-clown Jason, on a school trip to London. After one wild party, Julia starts receiving romantic texts . . . from an unknown number! Jason promises to help discover the identity of her mysterious new suitor if she agrees to break a few rules along the way. And thus begins a wild goose chase through London, leading Julia closer and closer to the biggest surprise of all: true love.

Because sometimes the things you least expect are the most meant to be.

Sweet, swoony and set in London.  What more could you possibly need?

The time I did a swoony blog hop

Here we are again for another blog hop.  The lovely ladies at The Book Hookup and I Am a Reader, Not a Writer set this one up too!

When the topic of swoony boys came up, it was the hardest decision I had to make.  Which boy did I think was the swooniest? The first boy who comes to mind will always be Noah, but I wanted to give out a signed book.

So.  Adam Kent from Shatter Me it is!

Haven't "met" Adam yet? Check out some of the things he's said...

“You have no idea how much I’ve thought about you. How many times I’ve dreamt”-he takes a tight breath- “how many times I’ve dreamt about being this close to you.” He moves to run a hand through his hair before he changes his mind. Looks down. Looks up. “God, Juliette, I’d follow you anywhere. You’re the only good thing left in this world.”

and

“Juliette,” he whispers, and I realize just how close he is. I’m not sure why I haven’t evaporated into nothingness. “It’s been me and you against the world forever,” he says. “It’s always been that way. It’s my fault I took so long to do something about it.”

Still alive?

The time I did a blog hop

So.  This is my first attempt at a blog hop. The lovely ladies at The Book Hook Up invited me to try one. I love the idea of it and I'll pretty much jump at any chance to pimp out my favorite books.

As soon as I learned that it was a Bad Boy Hop and read the "definition" of a Bad Boy, I was certain of what my giveaway book would be...

Because Noah Shaw is the most delicious bad boy there is.  And while he is mine [I have proof], Unbecoming is one of the best wtf-is-going-on-mystery-type books that screwed with my head and had me thinking about it for weeks afterwards.

I can't recommend it enough. Not convinced? Click on the book cover to be taken to the GoodReads page.

Rules for the giveaway are listed under the "terms and conditions" on the Rafflecopter widget.
