The time it was a freedom to read hop

Time for another giveaway hop!

This one is hosted by BookHounds and I Am A Reader, Not a Writer.


As soon as I saw the above hop photo and the flag, I thought of America [obviously]. And from that train of thought, America Singer came to mind... which leads me to the book I'm giving away:
 
 
For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself—and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined

    I have about 9 favorite covers so far this year, some are Unravel Me, Nantucket Blue and Let The Sky Fall.

    There are a lot!!! Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare is stunning. Also I love both Daughter of Smoke and Bone as well as Days of Blood and Starlight.

    I would say that the cover for splintered is my current fav.. I just keep picking up the book, just to look at it.. After that then the next one would have to be the original cover for Born wicked..

    I have to admit Kiera Cass's covers thrill me, both The Selection and The Elite. All 3 covers in Josephine Angelini's Starcrossed trilogy were breathtaking. Other notable covers on my TBR list are 17 & Gone by Nova Ren Suma, Everneath by Brodi Ashton, Crewel bu Gennifer Albin, and The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle. There's just something about a cover that can make or break a novel, isn't there?

    I don't know if I have a favorite cover. Generally a cover doesn't do anything for me except maybe catch my eye so that I'll read the blurb -- that's what sells me on a book, the synopsis or blurb.
    However, I've recently picked up an ebook *just because* the cover was striking to me: A FIRST LOVE NEVER DIES by Margaret Taylor.

    The "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon" manga series has my favorite covers, especially Vol.8, which features Eternal Sailor Neptune.
