So. Here we are again for another quick & dirty just because giveaway. Up for grabs?
The year is 1876, and there’s something strange and deadly loose in Philadelphia…
Eleanor Fitt has a lot to worry about. Her brother has gone missing, her family has fallen on hard times, and her mother is determined to marry her off to any rich young man who walks by. But this is nothing compared to what she’s just read in the newspaper—
The Dead are rising in Philadelphia.
And then, in a frightening attack, a zombie delivers a letter to Eleanor…from her brother.
Whoever is controlling the Dead army has taken her brother as well. If Eleanor is going to find him, she’ll have to venture into the lab of the notorious Spirit-Hunters, who protect the city from supernatural forces. But as Eleanor spends more time with the Spirit-Hunters, including their maddeningly stubborn yet handsome inventor, Daniel, the situation becomes dire. And now, not only is her reputation on the line, but her very life may hang in the balance.
And....
Perfect for readers Libba Bray’s The Diviners and Cassandra Clare’s Clockwork Angel series, this
spellbinding sequel to Something Strange and Deadly delivers a mix of intrigue, supernatural forces, intense romance, and revenge, all set against the enchanting backdrop of nineteenth-century Paris.
With her brother dead and her mother insane, Eleanor Fitt is alone. Even the Spirit-Hunters—Joseph, Jie, and the handsome Daniel—have fled to Paris. So when Eleanor hears the vicious barking of hounds and see haunting yellow eyes, she fears that the Dead, and the necromancer Marcus, are after her.
To escape, Eleanor boards a steamer bound for France. There she meets Oliver, a young man who claims to have known her brother. But Oliver harbors a dangerous secret involving necromancy and black magic that entices Eleanor beyond words. If she can resist him, she’ll be fine. But when she arrives in Paris, she finds that the Dead have taken over, and there’s a whole new evil lurking. And she is forced to make a deadly decision that will go against everything the Spirit-Hunters stand for.
In Paris, there’s a price for this darkness strange and lovely, and it may have Eleanor paying with her life.

Can't believe I'd never heard of Susan until last week. It seems like she's everywhere. From what I can tell from her interviews, she's a lovely person who deserves every bit of success she can get. As a big fan of Clare's Clockwork Angel series, I have no doubt I'll love these books too!
ReplyDeleteSusan is amazing. I can't enough awesome things about her!!
DeleteThanks for entering!!
Great giveaway! I really want to read this series:)
ReplyDeleteOoo, I fangirl over so many authors...that's kind of a hard question. I guess if I had to choose just one, it would be Tahereh Mafi. I would marry her if she'd accept...even though I'm already married...to a guy...MINOR DETAILS.
ReplyDeleteTahereh is amazing! She's so much fun and definitely someone who is easy to fangirl over!
DeleteThanks for entering!!
Isn't always nice when the authors we fangirl over, and Twitter stalk, don't get restraining orders against us? I definitely fangirl over Victoria Schwab and Leigh Bardugo the most.
ReplyDeleteAs a side note, YAY for this giveaway. These are the first books featuring zombies I've ever really wanted to read and I need to get on it.
I haven't met Victoria yet, but Leigh is one of my favorite people. And yes! It's so nice when they encourage the fangirling!! :D

ReplyDeleteGood luck meeting her and thanks for entering!!
DeleteHey, Stacee! Great giveaway, thanks! I've got my fingers crossed :) My answer to your impossible-to-answer like question is Richelle Mead. I first heard about VA when all the books were already out after my local bookstore announced a signing from her, so I was able to read continuously and it was almost too much kick-butt awesome for me to handle. I moaned about for days because I missed her visit so I think it's safe to say I fangirl over Richelle. Then again, there is that period after I finished Clockwork Princess 2 that I checked Cassandra Clare's tumblr almost every hour... ;D
ReplyDeleteBoth ladies are amazing!!
DeleteThanks for entering and good luck!!
Hi Nicole!! Yay!! I'm so glad you liked them, they're definitely some of my favorites.

ReplyDeleteBlarg, I really really need to read these, KP!
ReplyDeleteAs for the author fangirling, I've never fangirled in person, but if I were to meet the following authors, it's likely that I'd make a fool of myself: Tahereh Mafi, Sarah J Maas, Veronica Roth, Kasie West, Stephanie Perkins, and Leigh Bardugo. Though, admittedly, I'd probably make a fool of myself regardless of who the author is anyways because I'm a fool in general.
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

ReplyDeleteI've fangirled over Sarah Maas and Susan Dennard for a bit now (aren't they just the sweetest to fans?) More recently I've become re-obsessed with New Zealand author Elizabeth Knox. I tweeted about her book to a friend and she saw that tweet and thanked me! Thus started several days of non-threatening internet-stalking. Authors are awesome.
ReplyDeleteGAH!! I almost MISSED IT!! Just slid in under the wire! :)
ReplyDeleteId say the authors I probably WOULD fangirl over the most if I got to meet them would be Liz Norris, Jessica Spotswood, Maggie Stiefvater, and my fave for over a decade, George RR Martin!!
