The time it was quick and dirty -- 4

So.  Here we are again for another quick and dirty just because giveaway.  This time, instead of giving away some arcs, I thought I'd share two of the first books in two series that I absolutely love.

Up for grabs?

Ana is new. For thousands of years in Range, a million souls have been reincarnated over and over, keeping their memories and experiences from previous lifetimes. When Ana was born, another soul vanished, and no one knows why.

Even Ana's own mother thinks she's a nosoul, an omen of worse things to come, and has kept her away from society. To escape her seclusion and learn whether she'll be reincarnated, Ana travels to the city of Heart, but its citizens are afraid of what her presence means. When dragons and sylph attack the city, is Ana to blame?

Sam believes Ana's new soul is good and worthwhile. When he stands up for her, their relationship blooms. But can he love someone who may live only once, and will Ana's enemies—human and creature alike—let them be together? Ana needs to uncover the mistake that gave her someone else's life, but will her quest threaten the peace of Heart and destroy the promise of reincarnation for all?

Jodi Meadows expertly weaves soul-deep romance, fantasy, and danger into an extraordinary tale of new life.

Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish.
Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen—literally, ouch!—both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom...

Told from both Emma and Galen's points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.

Both copies are paperback and both are signed.

  1. My favorite first in a series is Throne of Glass, but Of Poseidon is another solid opener!

  2. A couple of my recent favorite first books are Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo and The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa

  3. I don't know what my favourite first book is... Time Between Us, Unraveling, Divergent, Half-Blood, Slammed, and If I Stay, off the top of my head :)

  4. I loved Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta!
    Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  5. Shadow and Bone or Daughter of Smoke and Bone!

  6. I love the Shawdow Falls series by C.C Hunter. I also love the Lonely Souls series by Karice Bolton.

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  7. I have many first books in series that I've adored. Some of them including Divergent, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, Hush Hush, Halo, Shiver, The Raven Boys . . . and I can go on and on. :-)

  8. Favorite book in a series is so haaard. There's Shadow and Bone, Something Strange and Deadly- you know what> Maybe all the Publishing Girls books. Plus Marissa Meyer's :P

  9. I really, really enjoyed Shadowlands by Kate Brian and I'm really excited for Hereafter! Like, I seriously can't wait! The ending to Shadowlands BLEW MY MIND!

  10. LOVE Divergent, Cinder, and (a huge fave) The Raven Boys, but there are two older books that I'd say are my absolute favorite first in their series (also two of my favorite all-time series!). First, from when I was growing up, there's Flowers in the Attic by VC Andrews. I have read that book probably, oh, 100 times at least!! Second would be Game of Thrones, the first in George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series. He is one of my favorite authors (perhaps #1) and I think he is GENIUS. Reading one of his books is like taking a master class in every aspect of writing you can imagine.

Thanks for the awesome giveaway, as always!! xoxo

  11. I absolutely fell in love with Cinder, Divergent, I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I Have To Kill You, Twilight, Obsidian, Hush Hush and a whole lot of more first books in a series.

  12. I am doing this for my 11 year old niece cause her favorite first in a series is Of Poseidon. She keeps borrowing my copy to reread it and I told her I would try to get her, her own copy.

  13. I'm going to go with Harry Potter 7. I love so many different series, but it's hard for me to pick a favorite book in each series a lot of times. I absolutely loved all of Harry Potter, but book 7 was definitely my favorite.

  14. I need to win this for my daughter she has read Of Poseidon several times and loves it so much! She would just be thrilled and this would be an amazing middle school graduation gift!

  15. My Favorite is Divergent but my daughter would say Of Poseidon!

  16. Harry Potter!!!!!

that and "The Girl of Fire and Thorns"

  17. It would take to long to list all of them:) I really enjoyed Divergent and Obsidian as first books in a series.

  18. Harry Potter and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer!! :D

  19. The Raven Boys and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer were two of my favorite first books. They're both so unique in storyline and have a ton of "wtf?" moments, which I love.

  20. I would probably have to go with Divergent, that' s my all time favorite book. But I really like The Iron King and Hopeless too.

  21. It would be Shadow and Bone. That was such a great story..
